About Stars in the Sky

Stars in the Sky Hampshire is a dating and friendship service for adults with learning difficulties that started in September 2008. We're proud to be a Hampshire business. The leaders and manager are also Hampshire based residents. Our branch is based in Fareham, UK.

The Company Committee Leaders

The committee leaders are voted for by the members and they remain in position for 12 months. The decision for them to carry on is put to vote again by the members after that year. The role of the committee leaders is to make sure all new members are looked after and made to feel welcome, to advocate for other members at committee meetings and to play an active role in the running of the organisation. They are also available to answer any questions you may have regarding the agency.

Carron plays an extremely important role within the organisation she works on a weekly basis at the Stars office on a voluntary basis and performs her office duties with the utmost confidence and efficiency. Carron never lets anyone down she is a well respected member of the group and very popular with the other members.

Company Regional Coordinator

Nicole is the Stars in the Sky Hampshire Project Manager. Her role is to support members to develop and sustain relationships and accomplish their goals i.e signposting employment, business ideas and educational goals.

Nicole also ensures that funding continues for Stars in the Sky on a yearly basis. Joint partnership working with Hampshire Learning Disability Development Fund, Portsmouth partnership board and Mencap. Nicole facilitates workshops and provide training such as friendship training, sex education workshops and confidence training.

Stars in the Sky is a social enterprise that believes in empowering people with learning difficulties through:

  • Giving people the opportunities to develop new relationships and meet new people.
  • Develop and sustain friendships and relationships with people from other boroughs
  • Experience the leisure activities available in different places
  • Investing any profit in supporting people with learning difficulties to develop their business ideas.
  • Being involved in the decision making of the company.
  • Challenging negative views of people with learning difficulties.
